weekend catch up
Y'all have probably been wondering about the baby fish.
They are growing up quite nicely. There are definitely less of them now. The parents aren't eating them, but they are eating each other. The bigger of the little fish attack the smaller of the little fish. I would say we have between 30 and 40 baby fish left. We have really had a fun time watching them grow.
I've been working on a little project this week. I am organizing my clipped recipes.
Originally I had them in notebooks just taped in by category.
There were lots of recipes I had clipped that I know I will never make. I have been reviewing them and weeding them out. I had to laugh because I made these notebooks over 5 years ago when my Dad was in the hospital. I would sit up there with him and work on my project. He asked me one day what I was working so hard on and I told him. He said I would never use those book... and he was right. I have never used them.
Friday night, I had dinner with some special ladies.

Eden and Alice met us with their parents at Cozumel Grill. They are growing up SO fast. I bought them a little present. (I like for the kids in my life to be used to getting fun gifts from me!). I wouldn't let them open them and kept giving clues. They finally guessed--- MOON SAND! We made plans for a sleepover weekend soon!!
Speaking of FUN gifts, Here is a picture of Charlie sporting some sunglasses I gave her when I saw her on Saturday.
She and her parents drove though town and stopped to have lunch with us on Saturday. She was all smiles at Target .
We were all smiles too when we saw this on the way out.
AfterTarget , Mr. D. and I went to a tile warehouse.
It was in this very store that we FINALLY found tile for the bathroom. It has only taken us a year to locate tile we both agreed on.
It looks gray in this picture. But, it is actually black with charcoal streaks. It is going to look AMAZING.
But, as with all good things, there is a lot of work to be done before we enjoy the fruits of our labors. Here is our before pic.
Today we pulled up the vinyl flooring.
Then we scrapped up the paper backing and adhesive.
This is all that we chose to do today.
The floor is ready for tile but that will have to wait for another day.

finally....an update!
Thank you all for your patience while I worked on the big adoption profile project. It's in the mail on the way to Texas via North Carolina. Our ads are running as well in South Carolina, Louisiana and Arkansas. Now you are updated on the baby front, so let's get caught up on the here and now... or well, the late last week and early this week.
First off, Do you know how FUN I am? LOTS!!
Here is the web I built for my girl scouts to untangle at their meeting on Tuesday.
Don't think it was a little web either!
Here is the perfect button I found in my collection to use when sealing our profile DVD.
I am growing an Orchid now. I may start referring to our bathroom as the Orchid Station (LOST reference). I know nothing about growing an orchid, but I am willing to try. I think it is beautiful and it looks great in our bathroom.
OK, back to Spring Break. It was beautiful and one day I decided it was time to plant. I had all of the things I needed. Soil, gloves, gardening clogs, shovel, and strawberry pot.
Oh, and of course a supervisor.
Mr. D. made me a handy dandy watering pipe for my strawberry pot. He's awesome.

It didn't take long until Brady took my glove and ran.
And after a while, VOILA! My strawberry plants are planted and hopefully they will take off and flourish.
Then I moved on to my little garden bed. Now, last year was my first year to grow herbs. I really knew nothing about it. At the end of the season, I just left everything as it. My Oregano and Parsley are were coming back.
Now, let me just tell you, when I was trimming back the oregano it smelled SO good. I wanted olive oil to make a dipping sauce to dip fresh bread in. It was HEAVENLY smelling. Brady thought it smelled good too!
Do you know what he did next? I went in to the house to get some basil, dill, and onions to plant. And this is what I found when I came back.
These garden stakes have been in for over a year and he has never bothered them before. But here he is with one pulled out. Crazy Dog!! Luckily, he is a good boy. I took it away and he hasn't bothered them since.
On the inside, I finally put some different prints in our bedroom frames. We took 4/5ths of these pics. I think they came our quite nicely.
We filled out our census. This is our third census that we have been a part of.
This is one of our new favorite snacks.
Oh, and we made more sushi! I think I am getting better at this. However, it is so time consuming that I still prefer Surin any day of the week.
Mr. D. hung this up in our room. Cheezy I know, but still it's sweet and it look really nice
Don't worry, Brady was there to supervise the whole situation. He didn't give Mr. D. up close and personal help like I get in the garden because he is NOT allowed on the bed.
Ms. Parks had some exciting post Spring Break news to share. Of course in Kate fashion, she had to make a fun game to tell us.

Yes! Kate submitted an entry to take part in the Diamond Dash and she was chosen to enter. It you would like to read about the Diamond Dash, click HERE.
While Mr. D. was off work with me while I was on Spring Break, we accomplished many goals. We steam cleaned the carpets and they look AMAZING!! We cleaned A L O T!! Spring cleaning is never fun, but at least we had each other to complain about it with. Here is one thing that we accomplished that has been a long time coming. We finally got our shelf and hung it up in the bathroom.

So far, I have found a little decor for the bottom shelf. Oh and also we found a reed diffuser that we both LOVE!! I will have to look and see what it is, but I get it atTarget and it is a very refreshing and clean scent.
Oh, and last, but certainly now least. I found a fabulous storage set at Costco. LOVE it!!!
And now, you are all caught up!
