travel bug-- part one

So, we have had a whirlwind week. I have personally taken over 1000 photos this week alone. Now to sort, edit and find time to post. I had a week's vacation from work. My Mother, Shelby and I boarded a plane to Minnesota. It was fabulous to get to see my brother, Sister-in-law, Niece and Nephew. I have not seen them since December 2009. We had so much fun. Here are some of the photos. There were so many to choose from. Stay tuned for further updates on what we did over the weekend.... plus a back track to how Mr. D.'s first Father's Day went.

Today (being the super fun Mama that I am) I put water on the tray of Shelby's high chair for her to play in.

Thursday 13: thirteen things to share and then my blog is caught up

1) We went to the beach and while at the beach I got a hard to get photo showing all 7 of Shelby's teeth. Three on top, four on the bottom.

2) Shelby enjoyed her first trip to the beach. We have been to a bay before but never to the ocean with waves rolling in and out. She LOVED the sand... LOVED it! She would kick and kick her little legs until they were covered.

3) We have harvested several blueberries lately. Shelby is a big blueberry fan!

4) Can you believe Rylee and Henry are almost two??

5) NEXT WEEK Shelby will see ALL of her cousins. Donovan, Kaleigh, Rylee, Henry and Charlie! What a fun week it will be!!

6) We are slowly but surely getting our home back in order from the recent flooding. The plumber finished up today which hopefully means I will regain access to my outdoor hose. Hand watering the garden is NOT fun! Then soon we will be getting our flooring fixed, new drywall and the bedroom painted.

7) Rumor has it that Mr. D. asked the painter for an estimate on the kitchen as well. Could it be that I am finally going to get my kitchen painted??? Stay tuned!

8) We are talking about adding a new member to the family..... but right now it's just a discussion. Brady's thinking of getting a wife.

9) Shelby will be taking her first plane trip in just a few days. I can't even tell you how nervous we all are about it... and excited to be going all at the same time.

10) Here are photos of Shelby playing with her newest favorite toys. They squeak when she crawls. Precious.




11) I have a new friend thinking about adoption. I was able to provide her with a few resources. Please join me in praying for this sweet family.

12) Summer is here and I have not started making my to-do list yet.... can you believe it???

Couponing with Tiffani

Tiffani came over today for couponing.  We are both overwhelmed with trying to get organized.  We love saving money!

Shelby at 10 months

Today our Shelby turned 10 months old. Here are a list of things I can tell you about Shelby at 10 months.

At her last Dr. Appointment she was 29 inches and 20 lbs.

She is wearing 12month and 18 months clothing.

She has started dancing every time she hears music.

She is very very very close to taking her first unassisted steps. She just needs a little more confidence.

She loves being in the pool. She kicks and kicks in the water.

She eats a wide variety of things. She loves green beans, blueberries, yogurt and crackers the best.

She has shown a little bit of a temper complete with stiffening of the body and clenching of the fist.

She loves her Daddy and Brady more than any one else... but when she is upset she wants her Ma----ma!!!!!!

She can consistently say a few words- but has also started sing-songy mimicing us too.

She consistently says: Ma-Ma, Da-Da, and now Da-EEEE for Daddy, bay-EEEE for Brady (which she says ALOT), Apple, Ach-ooo, Hi, Hey and Bye.

Repeating us she has said what we think was.........Pretty, Maggie, Holla (something I say to her) Fraggle and Red Rover but she is not using them consistently and it was more sing-songy repeating.

She plays well independently and with others.

They were so precious together.

The kid LOVES Fraggle Rock. She can hear the first note of the song and starts getting so excited. She also like to watch Strawberry Shortcake and Little Einsteins.

She is drinking more from the sippy cup but still isn't thrilled about it. She loves her bottle!

She is still conservative with her laughter. She smiles a lot and we know she is having fun but that laughter is hard to come by. I guess nothing is really all that funny to her yet.

She is the most wonderfully fabulous little girl ever!!
