three girls and an egg hunt

On the Saturday before Easter, we met up with Alice and Eden for a photo shoot and egg hunt. Enjoy!

I just know on Shelby's wedding day Erica will be right there helping her to get ready! 

tales from the potty

Over Spring Break, we bought Shelby a little potty.  She has been showing signs of interest.  Like...leaving the bathtub to tee tee and then getting back into the tub.  We are not pushing it.  The potty is available.  If she wants to use it she can but we aren't making a big deal about it.  Every time she uses the potty she says "ut oh" when it starts hitting the potty.  It's really cute.  Sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't.  She likes reading the books.  Her potty is a little chair, but also has an insert for the big potty.   Some times when she is playing and talking I will hear her say potty and when I do I take her and she goes every time.  She is wearing pull ups- in a size 3t/4t.  They have Disney Princesses on them.  When she potties in them I was making a big deal about saying "oh no, the poor princesses".   Now, "oh no the princesses" is Shelby's code word for telling me she needs to be changed.  Of course, she only seems to mention that occasionally.  She is still young and like I said, we are casually trying before hitting it hard core later on.

On March 31, my school had a sock hop.  I am on the committee that was in charge of the event.  It was super fabulous.  Here are a few things I wanted to share about the event.

spring break... which was like 6 weeks ago

March 19-23 we had Spring Break.  Shelby took her first trip to the zoo.  We joined and will be enjoying it more often.  Here she is so happy looking at and waving at the tiger. 

 And that was the only large animal that she noticed.  I guess the others were too far away for her to pay any mind to.  She liked the tiger since he was right there pacing in front of her.  Monkeys, elephants, giraffes and the others will need to up their game by the next visit.

 She also enjoyed feeding the lorikeet.

 But, the best thing that has ever happened in her whole life was the carousel.  She loved it so much....and cried when it was over.

 Here are some other photos I snapped for blog purposes during that week...see, I always have big blogging plans.   My sealer died, may it rest in peace.  After an appropriate mourning period, I will be getting a new one. Especially since I just signed up for a summer CSA or food co-op.

 We bought some sweet potatoes at Costco...........and Brady thought they were all for him.

 We also organized the shoes in waiting.  She should be in these by the fall!

 We spent the entire week collecting stay hair bows from around the house.  Here is the bow display on Monday.

We also cleaned the nursery. 

 Here are my new curtains which aren't even straight in this picture. I had a little helper when I was putting them up.   I am not sure why I didn't snap a before picture. (weird)

What is this??? Same day blogging?? I know, this NEVER happens, but I just had to post these pictures TONIGHT! I was afraid my sweet sister-in-law Meredith might faint if she is not exposed to this cuteness immediately.  Don't worry readers, eventually I will go back and blog about Easter, and Shelby's Adoption Day Anniversary.   But for tonight, and for your viewing pleasure I present a photo pictorial of the dessert cart.  The Easter Bunny brought Ol' Shelbs this cute little dessert cart.  Here she is on Easter morning looking at her tasty plastic pastries. 

Well, today I replaced the plastic cupcakes with REAL cupcakes.  Look at the surprise on this little face.....

The minute she left the kitchen with a cupcake I had to stop the photo shoot and protect the two places she always runs to-- Brady's bed or my bed! Luckily I was able to catch her before she got icing everywhere! It was a fun afternoon.  I love days like this with the little lady!
