Ceci's Baptism

Today, we went to see little Miss Ceci's baptism. This dress she is wearing was a handmade family heirloom that was over a hundred years old. It was stunning! She was a perfect baby during the ceremony and didn't cry even once.

per Meghan...

"It looks like a big nutcracker threw up in your kitchen. It's cool though."

Clark

Here is a picture of Clark out putting up the Christmas lights. Rumor has it - he had a little helper up on the roof. We are the only people in the nighborhood with the lights up already. But, don't worry- in honor of Thanksgiving- we haven't turned the lights on yet. They are just up and ready and just waiting for the proper time for illumination. JJJJJJOOOOOOOYYYYYYY to the world....

going to the chapel

This is the cute church that my cousin Shane and his wife Maggie got married on Saturday. Isn't it precious! I have been a BIG fan of Shane's his entire life. Shane and his sister Kim are the oldest people who I can remember from before birth to now. I have adored them both from the start. Shane came to live with us for a while when he was almost out of Vet school and we had so much fun. Here is a picture of Shane, my brother Mike, me and Kim from back in the day. Here is picture of me, Shane and Kim from the wedding Saturday night.
It was a fun night. I can't wait to get to know Maggie more-- and I really can't wait to meet Kim and her husband Jimmy's baby in July!!

great with child

Here is my Nativity that I put out on Friday. Mary is "great with child" until Christmas.
Speaking of being "great with child" - I know lots of Moms to be!! There must be something in the water! May, June and July will be fun months!!

Why am I wearing my glasses??

Why am I wearing my glasses?? Because--I totally have the eye funk thanks to Martha Stewart.

It is so gross looking- I know. Sorry to be so graphic- but you know I like to keep the readers informed.

How did Martha Stewart give me the eye funk you ask? Well, yesterday when working on the dragon- Kate whipped out that most incredible surprise-- Martha Stewart jewel toned glitter. I couldn't get over what a fine light and airy texture it had. On the way home I looked in the mirror and noted that I was very sparkly. I laughed and that it was funny because I had a few errands to run- sparkles and all. Last night, I washed my face and no matter how hard I scrubbed- there were still traces of the glitter. I went to bed and this morning my eye felt weird when I woke up. I went and looked and it was a little red. I took my contact out and it was covered in little specks of glitter. I left them out and wore my glasses all morning- and washing my eye out several times. I got some visine and it took the redness away. I put my contacts back in- rinsed free of glitter before we went out of town to the wedding. I put the visine in a few times while we were at the wedding and reception. In the car ride home, my eye because very itchy and dry. I got home, took out my contacts- again, covered in glitter. I threw them away and now it is back to my glasses. AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

a stop on the way home

We had to make a stop on the way home to the new Bass Pro Shop. It was 8:30 at night and the place was packed!

Thursday 13: thirteen camera phone pics

Back by popular demand- here is list of 13 pictures from my camera phone. EnjoyThis is a picture of something I saw that was a little disturbing to me. I went into a pet shop and they had these fish. I don't know how it is done, nor do I wish to know- but look closely- they are drawn on. Some have stripes, some have nascar numbers, some have hearts. It is very weird.

This is a picture of Meghan dipping her chip into salsa. We sent it to Mr. D. tonight who was eating dinner at a different mexican restaurant from the one we were eating at.
These were Mr. D.'s party invitations- I had photo mailed them to him to see if he liked them before I bought them.
This was sent to Kate to prove to her that even though I am feeling a little crappy- I am not sick. This is a kid in my class napping- I think she looks like a little glow worm.
This is a picture of Parker wearing my coat in the gym at school. He thought this was pretty funny.

I sent this to Kate- telling her I was back on the wagon with the diet coke. It was a posed pic- I wasn't really drinking from the bottle.
These are the girls I eat lunch with every day Leah, Kate and Erika. On this day- we had Chinese food.
This is a picture I sent Tiffani of the Sonic sausage mini dippers I tried for breakfast. She had tried them - and we had the same opinion of them.
This was a t-shirt I saw that I thought was cute.

This is a picture of Hannah the fish lady I have blogged about before.
This is probably the funniest picture of Kate you will ever see. I had texted her about something super gross and she texted me back this pic. I love it. Every time I see it I just laugh and laugh. This is a picture of Alice eating ribs. She loves the ribs just like I do. MMM!!!

the 54 minute 54th birthday

Today is my Mother's 54th birthday. Due to my work schedule today-- and hers, we had exactly (ok- approximately) 54 minutes to spend with each other. So we ate so quick that I can't remember how it tasted (slight exaggeration) and had the birthday cake. Then she went to work. It was so fun seeing her and celebrating her special day with her.

it was just like Christmas-- just in November

I had a little bit of Christmas last night. I made the meal I make every year for Christmas dinner- roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pop-overs. I also made my favorite cookies. Some friends "popped-over" to enjoy the food- and to play Rock Band! It was a fun night.

and the winner is...

My Mother guessed $100.00 and the correct total was $101.47. She gets to help me decide what charity to spend my charity money on.

Also in the change was a marta bus token, 5 wheat pennies ( which I collect) mexican money, Canadian money ( Mr. D. can use when he goes to Canada in the Spring) and Euros.

I have been quite amused...

...by watching Whatever Martha on TV. It is a show where Martha Stewart's daughter and one of her friends watch segments from the Martha Stewart show and basically make fun of her. It really cracks me up!! I also have been reading their blogs.

Rock Band

Mr. D. took his birthday money and bought Rock Band today. I was thrilled because I have really been wanting to play it. Of course I had to be the band "roadie". Here is a pic of me hauling out the boxes for recycling. The name of our band on Rock Band is Brady's Chocolate Chips.

a murder mystery

So... I have been sitting on this for a few days to gather facts, interview other and form my own opinion. Someone in the fish tank is a murderer. All of the baby fish are gone- even though 3 of them made it until Wednesday of this week. They were actually fairly big (about the size of 3 grains of rice stacked together) - but not big enough I guess. Then today I noticed that one of the guppies (patron) had a large chunk taken out of his fin. Mr. D. suspects one of the Austrailian Rainbow Fish- being the largest in the tank. I, on the other hand suspect our red finned shark- Sheldon. I have taken to calling him Sylar, after the character on Heroes that kills others. In this video you can see the suspects: large rainbow fish is at the top and Sylar (Sheldon) is at the bottom.

lazy Sunday

There wasn't much stiring in my house today. Just a lazy Sunday. I started reading a new book. I am already 50 pages in. We napped, watched the Patriots win their game and caught up on some of the tivo we were behind on. Brady went from one sleepy position to the next. Just a relaxing day! It was much needed and wonderful.

bye bye fall

Fall is all packed up and put away.. soon Clark will be getting out the 10,000 twinkle lights.

blog contest continues...

OK- I still do not have all of the change rolled- so the blog contest is extended for 1 more week. So, be sure to post a comment on how much money you think is in this dish.

the Par-Tay

Mr. D.'s birthday party was last night. It was lots of fun. We hosted a fajita buffet at the Cozumel Grill. We love that place! We had 28 people in attendance and most came back to our house afterwards for cake. It was so fun.

me- a model??

Today, I decided to get a haircut at the place Mr. D. likes to go. When I sat down and told the lady what I wanted she asked if I would wait until November 17th and if so she I would get a cut and highlights for free. She said I would be the perfect hair model for a class she was teaching on that date. I was very excited until I realized that she meant I would need to be there during the day- and there is no way that I am taking a day off for a free haircut. She called my cut the Victoria Beckham and you can click here to see what it looks like in the front and back. It is a very cute cut and I love it already.

it may as well have been my birthday

Today is Mr. D.'s 35th Birthday. We took the day off and hung out. It may as well have been my birthday. We did lots of things I love to do. We...
...slept in
...watched tv
...ate ribs
...went to the movies
...got haircuts
...shopped
...went to a nice restaurant for a wonderful steak dinner
It was such a fun and relaxing kick off to the three day weekend.

#6

Number 6 of my Thursday 13 was totally true. I did make some one's day today and here she is.

Kate and I took Emma after school. She chose to go to Taco Casa. We ate and chatted. Emma is very entertaining and filled us in on all sorts of things. Afterwards, we took Emma home and she showed us every single thing in her room and took us on a tour of her house. I think that Kate and I had as much fun as Emma did.

forgot to blog

I just uploaded pics from my digi-cam and realized that I totally forgot to make this blog post on Tuesday. It is a picture of me with my "I voted" sticker. It was such a pleasurable experience going to vote this year! No lines- No waiting. Whoo- Hoo!

the one about Meghan and the jawbreakers

Tonight, Meghan and I are packing our packages for our adopted soldiers. Meghan's soldier Isaiah asked for candy to give the children in Iraq. Well- stingy Meghan stole all of the jawbreakers for herself. It was so funny. So- sorry children of Iraq-- No jawbreakers for you!
On another note, my soldier Les is getting everything I bought for him- I stole nothing from his package. However, I must confess in a moment of weakness- I ate a piece of candy from Isaiah's box last night.

blog-test

I am having a blog contest!!! I have been collecting my change all year long. The contest is to see who can guess how much change is in this container. For a point of reference this is the classic batter bowl from The Pampered Chef and there is approximately 8 cups of change in the bowl. The change weighs 11 lbs. Guess in the comment section. You may guess as many times as you wish over the next week. I will anounce the amount and the winner next Sunday. I will have a fun prize for the person closest to the actual amount- without going over. Happy guessing.

Block Party

Tonight was the first ever block party for our neighborhood. We had a great time planning it- and have been excited about it for weeks. The big truck rolled in at 3- and that is when the fun began with the big inflatable bouncy thing. We catered in barbecue. I was in charge of the kids table- I put out prize boxes for all of the kids, we brought in chick-fil-a kids meals, and had a cookie decorating station. Perhaps my favorite scene that I created for the night was the smore making station.
We took our outdoor fireplace to the party and everyone had fun making smores. It was perfect weather and a fun night- plus, I got to jump on the bouncy thing for a while- whoo- hoo!!!

revision of previous blog post

So--- at around 9:40 tonight I am catching up with Tiffani on the phone. We were talking about our blogs and suddenly it hit me that I did my Thursday 13-- on FRIDAY!!! I don't know what I was thinking- I even said to Paul and Meghan that I had to hurry up and publish my Thursday 13 before midnight- and no one told me it was Friday at the time! So- enjoy the craziness that is my life- and know I now know what day it is. Thanks Tiff!
