I have grounded myself from my new Kindle tonight to update my blog. I have made 9 entries tonight. Please keep reading!!! More to come soon.

Christmas Pajamas

one outfit I am sad to see go

I just loved this little dress made for Shelby by a friend of mine who I haven't even met yet!
I am putting it in the Christmas box and hopefully next year it can be a shirt!

The busy bakers

Shelby and I worked hard on making a few treats this holiday season.
Here are a few photos of what we worked on.

My new KitchenAid Artisan Mixer sure got a work out!

My favorite picture from the holidays

I just love watching these three little girls play. These are the kinds of moment that I will always hold dear. It was a wonderful night.

Shelby's first car date

Thomas and his Aunt Cupcake (Kate) came to pick up Shelby (and well me too) for their first car date. There must have been a lull in the conversation because when we reached our destination both of the children had fallen asleep. The woke up just in time to celebrate this little sweetie's third birthday. Here they are heading back home with their balloon animals.

A visit from Ki and Avi

Ki and Avi came for dinner and to play with Shelby earlier in the month. The girls insisted on giving her a bath- and I truly believe they think she hasn't had a bath since their last visit.
The played with Shelby and she loved their company. They kept covering her up with her little monkey lovey which cracked the grown ups up. Shelby would kicks it off and they would put it right back on. The also read lots of books to her which she loves.
Here is a picture of us measuring Shelby against the four year old Ki.

Shelby's fan club

Here are pictures of a few devoted members of the Shelby fan club. We love that they visit and care about Shelby so much!!!

The stroller

For Christmas, Mr. D's Mother sent us the next step up stroller for when Shelby was ready to move out of her current infant stroller. This is the stroller that we picked out.
Isn't it precious?? It's totally Shelby.

We got the package and wrapped it to go under the tree. Fast forward to Sunday, December 19th. Mr D. had to work on Monday and I had plans to go shopping with Hannah (our AWESOME Nanny) and Shelby-loo-who. On Sunday, the Mr. and I started the stroller discussion- you know where we try to figure out who has the stroller in their car without actually getting up to go look. It's been too cold for her to be strolling around outside so we knew it was in one of the cars and not the garage. We determined that I did. I had used the stroller on my off day which was on December 10th. OK so I am all set to go shopping. The next morning, I got Shelbs a ready to go and we planned to pick up Hannah on the way to shopping. I load Shelby up in the car and peek in the back to make double triple sure that the stroller is there.....emptiness. Then I remember that after my off day we had put the stroller in his car to go and see Santa at the mall. The thought of hauling sweet Shelby all over town in her Baby K'tan or car seat did not sound appealing- so I decided to open the new stroller. I opened it.... attached the wheels... grabbed the owner's manual and off we went. When we picked up Hannah- I handed her the manual and told her we were going to have to figure out a way to make this work for Shelby. We got to the first stop and put her in it. Here was how she looked.
We could not figure out how to get the straps tightened or how to lay her back. With this being a European stroller, the instructions we a bit hard to understand and the diagrams were quite humorous. Anyway, Shelby thought she was tough stuff all sitting up in the big girl stroller. We tucked her blanket in tight hoping it would help to keep her safe. I hoped people wouldn't ask my why this tiny baby was in such a big stroller. It took us a little bit but we finally figured out how to tighten the straps and lean her back.
This little lady LOVES her new stroller and so do I!! Once we got it situated it was great. Now we are a two stroller family which is great!!! Thanks Linda!

Merry Christmas....

The colors are a little off from the scanning. Here is the photo that we used in the card. She doesn't wave yet- we just got lucky catching the hand it's the way into her mouth. She was looking at her sweet Daddy and I took the picture. Here are some more cute pictures from that photo shoot.

from the cutting room floor

Here is a little stack of pictures that didn't make the cut for Shelby's first Christmas card- but that are cute none-the-less. I wanted to share them with you. Being only 4 months old, there aren't many poses that we could do- but we tried.

Some readers may recognize this hat........
We have it on loan from Henry-baby!
Shelby is so lucky to have sweet cousins who want to share their special things with her. We have really put the hat to use while it was our turn. I will post the picture that won out above all of the others closer to Christmas! Enjoy the pictures.

Can't get enough??? Check out Meredith's post here. Enjoy! Comments are welcome!

Shelby and Santa

We took Shelby to see Santa on Saturday evening.
