My Sister-in-law Meredith posted a couple of videos on her blog of my super cute Nephew Henry. I showed the videos to Shelby. We watched each video twice. Afterwards, I put her on the other side of the room to play with her toys. Then I stepped into the kitchen to make her a bottle. This is what I came back to.

Shelby at 6 months old
It's hard to believe that 1/2 of a year has passed by already. Shelby has grown and changed so much. Here is a little glimpse of Shelby at 6 months old.
* She weights 17 lbs 13.5 ounces (75th percentile)
* She is 26 3/4 inches long (90th percentile)
* She is a super sweet little girl with a very cheery disposition
* She is desperate to crawl and has found ways to get where she is going. She will either roll herself or pull herself. Baby proofing is definitely an on-going process right now.
* She can find the tiniest little thing and put it in her mouth. I'm going to have to buy a Roomba to keep up with the vacuuming! (of course, I'm not really- but it would be awesome)
* She likes sweet potatoes, green beans, green peas, carrots, squash, oatmeal, rice cereal, puffs, prunes, macaroni and cheese puree, mashed potatoes, and a variety of stage 2 combination meals.
* She has been given the green light to start on trying meats. We will also be reintroducing the fruits (more on that later).
* She is a self soother.
* She babbles non stop for many hours at the time. Her main sounds are "buhhh" and "byebyebye" and "ah-boo" and just a whole lot of what the books call "squeals with delight".
* She still enjoys her Daddy above everyone else
* Her favorite TV shows are Little Einsteins and Jungle Junction.
* She is a very confident sitter.
* She loves to stroll around in her stroller.
* She is only 2 little inches away from being over the length limit for her infant car seat. I would send out a big "I told you so" to all who doubted me and acted like I was crazy when I suggested that she was about to need new car seats....but I'm not that kind of girl.
* She has a true love for music.
* She has two bottom teeth. I think another tooth will be here soon.
* She hates for her face to be wiped but doesn't mind if you dab it.
* She is beginning to pull up on things, and can stand for long periods of time against things like the coffee table, or her leap frog table.
* She thinks Brady is super cool.
* Just this week she has discovered her ears, eyes and hair.
* She loves a bath and is sad when it's over.
* She is definitely a "people person".
* She has outgrown more clothes than most kids even own.
* She continues to be the most amazing thing that has ever happened in our lives!

Thursday 13: Thirteen faces of Sandy and Kate
As a teacher at a Montessori school, I trust the children in my class with my camera. The reason why is that they have been shown the proper way to use it and they not only take excellent care of it, but they take the best pictures. Today, the little girl with using the camera wanted to take pictures of me and Kate. So......... we made a list of different emotions/actions that she could photograph. Here are the zany and fun adventures of Sandy and Kate that you have been missing!!

A Valentine Pictorial
Here is a pictorial of Shelby opening two Valentine's cards that she received Saturday. I blurred out our address for obvious reasons! Enjoy!

Saturday night ramblings
It's been a LONG week in this house. Sunday we had a much scaled back version of our super bowl party. I will have to blog about that later. This week I had parent/teacher conferences. Lots of reports were typed and lots of meetings were held. Mr. D. was busy getting ready to go on a business trip. Here are a few quick tidbits on Shelby from this week. More blogging soon!!
Last weekend, Mr. D added the legs on to make Shelby's Leap Frog table.
She loves to stand. She can stand for a long time working at the table. Sometimes she falls, so we have to stay in the floor behind her. Sometimes she thinks it is funny to fall and land in our laps. On a side note, please excuse my stained carpet. It won't be long until the steam cleaner will get that up.
