the picture you may never see

I have been trying to take a picture for you all week- but now I have decided that it is a picture you may never see. I have my first ever water lily in my pond. Here are my challenges:
1) It is never open before I go to work in the AM.
2) It is almost all of the way closed when I get home in the afternoons.

I was so excited that I might get a picture of it tomorrow- but I don't think it is going to happen. It rained here last night and now the pond has filled over the lily. The lily is closed up tight under the water. While I did want to share a picture of it with you, I have come to terms with the fact that it is a picture that you may never see.

more about my class

I know you are all probably sick of my talking on and on about the stuff for my class. I had to show you the super awesome letters I bought this weekend for my door. (Karen- let me know if you want the other letters- these are the only ones I will use). I got a lot accomplished today as far as my to do list was concerned. I found all three things I have been missing for a while. Here is a list of what I was missing and examples of how absent minded I have become.
1) my sunglasses- found them in my closet.
2) a $50 visa gift card - found in the recycle bin
3) my personal planner- found in the laundry room

tax free classroom shopping

For the past 2 days, I have been shopping like crazy for back to school. Here is a list of the items I bought for the Blue Class.

2 new scrub brushes
3 bamboo fabric lined baskets
new cubby tags
stickers for the cubby tags
new door letters
door decoration for September
2 storage boxes and my Mom found me 5 others I haven't been able to find
new organizer for the teacher pens, post-its, etc.
new rings for cubbies
measuring tape
locks for a cabinet
new trays

I am getting a new refrigerator for our classroom compliments of the Shirley Foundation. YEAH!! It is going to be so nice.
I have a small list of things to get still, but for right now I am in pretty good shape.

annoyed

I am very annoyed! I waited all week to reach my 10,000th viewer. I was going to make a big deal and send them a prize. Well, last night people couldn't read my blog without getting an error message. I figured it would resolve itself- but it didn't. I got up this am and googled it and everyone on the blogger message board said you had to remove site meter to fix the problem... so, I will never know who the 10,000th reader was.

afternoon adventures

This afternoon I went back to school shopping. I headed to Walmart, but the didn't have the storage boxes I needed, so I left. Then I went to get a haircut. I left there and went to Big Lots. I found 3 must have baskets for my classroom. I then went to the place I was getting dinner from to get a menu so I could call it in later. I left my car there and walked to Hobby Lobby where I met Meghan. I bought 2 wooded boxes there. We left and went to a different than usual teacher store. I didn't see anything I needed there. We went to the usual teacher store where I got rings and tags for the cubbies, letters for the door, and my bulletin board stuff. My little room is really coming together which is AWESOME!!! I am so so so so so excited.

update

I have been a blog-slacker this week. I have been a busy bee. Monday night, I went to a meeting until 9. Tuesday I had my eye Dr. appointment and supper club. Wednesday, I went to dinner at Cozumel and relaxed a little. Last night, my Brother-in-law Scott came into town. We went to eat at a place I haven't been to before called Jacksons. It was good. They had something on the menu called Cookie Dough Egg Rolls. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! It was chocolate chip cookie dough rolled in a wonton, flash fried and topped with ice cream and hot fudge. It was DELICIOUS!! I had a great time seeing Scott- and he said he may be here on business more often- YEAH!! Today, I am enjoying Ms. Caldwell being back at work. I have however just broken out into hives for the first time in my life. It is weird. I don't know if it was something I ate or what. Very weird indeed!! This afternoon- shopping for my classroom. YEAH!! I can't wait to get it all finished and start the new school year. I may be going back to school myself- but more on that later.........
