New York Wedding Weekend

On the weekend of September 24th, we were in New York for a wedding for Mr. D.'s cousin.   We were only in New York for around 28 hours.  Talk about a whirlwind.  Shelby was MISERABLE! She didn't sleep well the night before the trip and got very little rest along the way.   Now I know a new tooth was working it's way in... her first MOLAR!  I think she cried more in that 28 hours than she has in the last 28 weeks.   It made me sad because no one in Mr. D.'s family got to see her amazing little personality.  You can read Meredith's weekend recap here and see some FABULOUS pictures of my cute nephew Henry.

Meredith and I spent countless hours coordinating these outfits....
now if only we could have gotten a better picture...
 The beautiful bride!
A moment of content- cocktail hour at the wedding.  Shelby enjoyed a crackers and diluted cranberry juice.
Shelby was in a great mood here.  Henry taught her to RUN at the morning after brunch.
Here is an artsy kind of photo I took.  I love it.
I call this the post brunch pass out. Aren't the lucky shoes fabulous!
One funny thing I have to tell you about the whirlwind time in New York is about the 90 year old Nana Bea.    She made a comment about how taken Shelby was with Henry.  Then she said "I remember the last time I saw them together Shelby didn't really want to have anything to do with him."  Here is a picture of them together the last time the Nana Bea saw them together.
Shelby was only 3 months old.     I am glad she has "come around" to wanting to play with Henry! Haha.  We thought this was so funny!

trying... but floundering

I know this blog is terribly behind.  It is a constant struggle for time around these parts as of late.  However, for the first time in a long time we have NO plans for the weekend.... other than Gymboree, Mr. D. going in to work on Saturday, cars needing oil changes, groceries to be bought.... oh and a flooring project that will be finished or we are just gonna have to move.  So stay tuned my friends because there may be time to blog.  I am leaving my laptop on the kitchen table and hopefully I can steal a second or two to get you caught up on all things new.  Now, off to bathe Shelby for her new class at Gymboree debute!

Gymboree

Shelby loves going to Gymboree.  Right now she is in a family/sibling class.  I am very excited that she is actually getting to move into a new class next week.   I think it will be great because there will not be any "big kids" in the new class....just toddlers! It is going to be even better!

While we were away

While we were in South Carolina burying our sweet Russell, Shelby got the chance to spend a few days with Maggie, Shane and Charlie.   Shelby and Charlie are now in the same size of clothes.   Rylee even got to come and play.  I don't have pictures of all of the girls (we need a trio playdate soon to get some) but here are some CUTE photos of Shelby and Charlie dressed alike.  (Of course, being polite-- Shelby would keep pigtails in for Aunt Maggie!)

It was Shelby's first time away from home and I am glad she had such a fabulous experience.

a special friendship

Shelby and the lucky shoes

When Shelby and I were in North Carolina visiting Karen we saw these shoes.   The store had one pair in a size 5.   We tried them on but they were too big.  Shelby cried through two stores after because we didn't get them. (One day I can pinpoint this moment as the moment that we knew we were in trouble) Since I got back I have searched and searched.  They aren't online.  I have been to store after store.  My friends have been to store after store.   Well, I finally found a pair...ONE pair....in a size 5...and you know what... this time I brought them home.

They are a little big but she absolutely adores them.  She has a little extra pep in her step when they are on!
