The letter of the day : B

It seemed that the letter of the day was B.

BABY

Charlie stopped in on her way out of town this morning. Here is a picture of the little lady in her hat ready to work in the garden. Here is a picture of her showing off her cute outfit with ladybug pockets. I love a ladybug! Luckily we found her a little candy money to put in her pockets. She kept one pocketful but gave the other back to me to buy Mr. D. some candy with.

BABY FOOD

I also gave Charlie a little of this- since she has now started eating baby food!

BRADY

The reason Charlie got to pop in was that Brady needed his shots. Charlie's dad is an awesome vet not only making house calls for Brady but also bringing Charlie and Maggie for us to play with too!

BREAKFAST

After the Lee's went on about their road trip, Kate and I went out to Breakfast at Waffle House.
BRIDE

Then the bride and I went to see a possible venue for her wedding. Here is a super cool pic that I wish I had been taken without the flash!!

BIRTHDAYS

Mr. D. and I went to two birthdays today. I forgot to snap a picture at the first because I was too busy stuffing my face with my favorite thing in the world--- CAKE! I asked the birthday girl's Mom to send a pic- so maybe I can add one later.

Here is a pic of Birthday girl number two.

Yes! It's my sweet Alice. I can't believe that she is 5 years old.

BLOOMS

After Alice's party, Mr. D. and I window shopped at a local nursery. The blooms were beautiful! I just love Spring!

the tree

One thing standing in the way of my raised bed being where it belongs is this tree.
This tree seed blew over for the yard behind us an tried to make a home. I didn't take it down immediately because I thought a friend of mine wanted it. Here we are over a year later and the tree is still here. I spent some time digging up the roots. Thankfully we had a healthy amount of rainfall in the past day or so. It made the ground very soft and easy to dig in. Of course, I wasn't the only one trying to pull up the tree.

Sorry the video is sideways... user error!

After a little effort on our parts- here is the removed tree and it's roots.
Then I went to removing the weeds from the intended area. That is when I encountered this.

Initially I was startled until I realized it was only a...

....harmless salamander. Maybe he will bring luck to the garden.

Mr. D. got home and helped me move the frame in place and we started adding the soil.
The garden will be ready for planting by the weekend!!!

Charlie

Here is one for all of you Charlie fans out there. Maggie is sweet enough to frequently text me pictures of this sweet little lady throughout the week. Here are some text pics I just cleaned off of my phone. Enjoy! (click to enlarge)

It's fixed-- now an update

Mr. D. finally got the virus off of my computer so I can finally catch you up on what's going on with us. Thursday night, as I already told you, Mr. D. built a raised bed for my vegetable garden that I will be undertaking this year. He worked well into the night to get it built. It's built but not in place yet- but that is coming.

I will keep you all updated on the progress. I had such good luck with herbs last year that I am hopeful that I am a successful vegetable farmer as well. More on that later.

We took a short little weekend get away this weekend to go to a wedding of a friend/coworker of Mr. D. Here is what the GPS looked like when we arrived at the wedding.

The setting was BEA-UTIFUL!!
The weather was great. I had an outdoor wedding and I know how risky it can be with the weather. This couple hit the weather jackpot! I took a few pictures of some of the things I really loved about their wedding. Here is a glimpse.

The flowers in the flower girl's hair.

The cake- because you all know that cake is one of my passions in life.

I actually liked the taste of the groom's cake better than the bride's cake which surprised me. Maybe my taste are changing with age. The bride's cake was red velvet with cream cheese icing topped with butter cream icing. The groom's cake was chocolate with peanut butter icing.

This was the boat the couple used for the get away.

This may be my favorite element of the wedding. FLIP FLOPS for the guest.
This was so you could dance and be comfy without your heels and dressy shoes.
I also liked the happy couple of course.

As they sailed away on the boat, fireworks were going off over head. It was prefect!!
Speaking of weddings.... Kate's is in FULL plan mode.

She brought these magazines one day for lunch. We thumbed through them and ate cake bites. The wedding is tentatively planned for May of 2011.
